A brand of shoes that are made from natural materials Glerups

A Danish company that was founded in 1993 by a husband and wife team, Peter and Hanne Glerup. The company was started with the goal of creating a comfortable, high-quality shoe that was made from natural materials.

The idea  came to Peter while he was working on his farm. He noticed that his feet were always cold, even when he was wearing thick socks and boots. He decided to try making a shoe out of wool, which is a natural insulator and was surprised at how warm and comfortable his feet felt.

From this initial idea, the brand was born. The company started out by making slippers and indoor shoes, but quickly expanded to include outdoor shoes as well. Today, Glerups shoes are known for their high quality, comfort, and durability, and are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide.

One of the key features of Glerups shoes is the use of natural materials. The upper part of the shoe is made from 100% pure wool, which is naturally insulating and breathable. This means that your feet will stay warm in cold weather, but won't overheat in warm weather. The wool is also naturally moisture-wicking, so your feet will stay dry even if you're walking through wet conditions.

Glerups also uses rubber for the soles of the shoes, which is a durable and sustainable material. It is water-resistant, slip-resistant and flexible, making it perfect for shoes.

The company is also committed to sustainable practices, and all of its shoes are made from natural materials that are biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Glerups also works closely with their suppliers to ensure that the wool and rubber they use are sourced responsibly.

Over the years, Glerups has received numerous awards and accolades for its innovative and eco-friendly approach to shoe design. The company has been recognized for its commitment to sustainability and its use of natural materials and has received numerous awards from organizations such as The Nordic Council of Ministers and the Danish Ministry of Environment.
